Theron Humphrey & Maddie
In 2011, Theron Humphrey hit the road to cross America to celebrate life. He photographed one person a day, every day, for an entire year. His dog Maddie the Coonhound joined him on his little adventure and they’ve been best friends ever since. The project, This Wild Idea, was recently named National Geographic’s Travel Project of the Year. In this lecture, Humphrey will discuss his adventure, touching upon his inspiration and its ultimate realization.

Originally from Coastal North Carolina, Theron Humphrey is a photographer who has lived and worked across the country. In 2011, he started a kickstarter-funded project across the US, meeting and photographing someone new every day. He takes his coonhound Maddie on his adventures.
